Introduction

The Painted Lady is one of the world's most widely-distributed butterfly species, ocurring throughout Europe and Asia, in Africa, North and South America.

Characteristics

Distinguished from similar-looking members of the genus by the row of small, similar-sized submarginal spots on the hindwing and white subapical patch on the forewing.
