Types

Holotype, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. 131254 (male I); paratypes, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C., Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Department of Zoology, Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana, Joe B. Black, and Jerry G. Walls.

Type Locality

Bayou Santabarb "(third branch north of Kisatchie)" on State Route 117, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana.

Range

Known from only seven localities in Natchitoches and Sabine parishes, Louisiana, and Upshur County, Texas. Specimens from Coal County, Oklahoma, were intrepreted by Walls (1972) as intergrades between this crayfish and O. (H.) difficilis.

Remarks
